Directorate Notice

This file treats the Reptilian Humanoid as a specimen — documenting what is claimed about its biology, origin, behavior, and methods of concealment, across both ancient traditions and modern conspiracy literature. The Directorate does not assert that the specimen exists in observable physical reality, nor does it assert the contrary. Where ancient sources are cited, they are presented in their historical context. Where modern conspiracy claims are cited, they are presented as claims with their sourcing identified. Where mainstream scientific or archaeological interpretation conflicts with the claims, that context is provided.

This file is necessarily interlinked with the broader Reptilian Elite conspiracy — the theory that these entities occupy positions of political and financial power among human civilization — because the two bodies of knowledge are inseparable in the available literature. However, the primary focus remains the nature of the entity itself: what it is said to look like, where it is said to come from, how it is said to operate, and what evidence has been offered for its presence.

Section I — Physical Description: The Specimen in Its Natural Form

Across independent traditions — Zulu oral history, Sumerian mythology, modern witness accounts collected by researchers, and the synthesis built by David Icke — the physical description of the Reptilian Humanoid in its natural, undisguised form is strikingly consistent. The following composite profile is drawn from multiple source traditions and is documented here as the convergent description, with sourcing noted for each characteristic.

Across accounts, the Reptilian Humanoid in its natural state stands between six and eight feet tall, with a powerfully built humanoid frame. Its skin is consistently described as scaled or beaded — analogous in texture to the skin of a monitor lizard or large snake — and ranges in color from greenish-brown to a darker olive or grey depending on the account. The head is distinctively non-human: an elongated cranium, narrow almond-shaped eyes with vertical slit pupils (often described as emitting a yellow, green, or reddish luminescence), prominent nasal slits in place of a protruding nose, and a wide, lipless mouth concealing a forked or bifurcated tongue. The hands have three fingers ending in pronounced claws. Some accounts include a vestigial tail; others do not.

Researcher John Rhodes, who coined the term “Reptoid” and has studied reported encounters since the 1990s, offers one of the more systematic descriptions: beings approximately seven to eight feet tall with humanoid structure, beaded or scaled skin, and the slit-pupil eye configuration. The Zulu shaman Credo Mutwa — whose oral tradition calls these entities the Chitauri — describes them in closely overlapping terms and attributes to them a smell of sulfur or decay that precedes their appearance. Icke’s synthesis adds the detail of cold-bloodedness requiring periodic ingestion of warm blood to maintain body temperature and the stability of the human disguise.

Section II — The Shapeshifting Mechanism: How Concealment Is Claimed to Work

The defining characteristic of the Reptilian Humanoid as described in modern conspiracy literature is its ability to project a convincing human appearance — a capacity referred to variously as “shapeshifting,” “frequency cloaking,” or “holographic projection” depending on the framework used.

In Icke’s model — the most developed theoretical framework — the mechanism is vibrational and interdimensional rather than purely biological. The Reptilians exist simultaneously across multiple frequency bands of reality. In their home frequency they appear as they are; in the human frequency band they project a holographic “human” layer over their true form. This projection is maintained through proximity to the Saturn-Moon Matrix — Icke’s name for a signal he claims is broadcast from Saturn’s rings, amplified through what he describes as the Moon’s hollow interior, and received by human consciousness, keeping humanity locked in a limited perceptual bandwidth. The Reptilians, operating just outside this bandwidth, can hold a human appearance within it while remaining fully reptilian in their own dimension.

An alternative, more biologically grounded account — offered by researcher Stewart Swerdlow, who claims firsthand experience of mind-control programs — describes the shapeshifting as a physical biochemical process: the ingestion of specific substances (including human adrenal hormones, blood, and what Icke refers to as “mono-atomic gold”) allows the Reptilian’s nervous system to temporarily reconfigure its external presentation at the cellular level. Credo Mutwa’s tradition offers a third framing: the Chitauri do not shapeshift but rather inhabit and control human bodies through a form of possession, with the human vessel remaining physically human while the Reptilian consciousness directs it.

The shapeshifting doctrine has a practical consequence for how “evidence” is identified: because the disguise is maintained at a frequency level beyond ordinary human perception, it can only be detected through momentary “glitches” — brief windows when the projection fails or flickers. This explains why the primary modern evidence for Reptilian presence is video footage rather than physical examination.

Section III — The Ancient Record: Serpent-Humanoids Across Civilizations

The single strongest argument deployed by proponents of the Reptilian hypothesis is the global ubiquity of serpent-humanoid figures in ancient mythology and religious iconography — a distribution that proponents argue is too consistent across unconnected cultures to be coincidental. The Directorate documents the major traditions here without endorsing the interpretive framework applied to them.

Tradition / Culture Entity Name Description Role / Significance
Sumerian / Mesopotamian
c. 3000 BCE
Ningishzida  ·  U-SHUM-GAL (“Great Fiery Flying Serpent”)  ·  Mušmaḫḫū Serpent deity; when depicted in human form, two serpent heads grow from his shoulders. The Mušmaḫḫū was a seven-headed hybrid of serpent, lion, and bird. Throne-bearer of the underworld; city god; associated with the world-axis and the caduceus-like double-serpent symbol
Ubaid Culture, Iraq
c. 5500–4000 BCE
“Lizardmen” figurines (no text name known) Clay figurines with elongated skulls, almond eyes, scales, and lizard-type faces. Some female figurines nurse lizard-headed infants. Found at Ur, Eridu, Tell al-Ubaid, Uruk. Purpose unknown; found in temple contexts suggesting religious significance. No contemporary written record exists. Mainstream archaeology: possibly fertility deities or shamanic figures.
Ancient Egypt
c. 3100 BCE onward
Wadjet  ·  Sobek  ·  Apep  ·  Djedhi Cobra goddess (Wadjet) protective of pharaohs; crocodile-headed Sobek associated with the Nile; the cosmic serpent Apep embodying chaos. Egyptian term Djedhi translates as “snakes.” Pharaohs depicted with serpent imagery (uraeus crown); the pharaonic bloodline associated with divine serpent descent in alternative readings
Hindu / Indian
c. 1500 BCE onward
Nagas  ·  Naginis Divine half-serpent beings capable of assuming fully human or fully serpent form; described as handsome, living in jewel-encrusted underground or underwater palaces Revered as beneficial; associated with water, fertility, and treasure. High-caste Indian families historically claimed Naga descent. Perpetually at war with Garuda (the sun-bird).
Mesoamerican
c. 1200 BCE onward
Quetzalcoatl  ·  Gugumatz  ·  Kukulkan Feathered Serpent deity; described as a “serpent of wisdom” and co-creator of humanity. One of three groups of gods credited with creating Earth and giving knowledge to humans. Patron of priests; mediator between gods and humanity; embodiment of life, death, and rebirth. Among Aztecs (1100–1521 CE), revered as the “through-line between the gods and humanity.”
Chinese
c. 2000 BCE onward
Lung (Dragons)  ·  Lóng The first Chinese emperors claimed descent from dragons. The dragon-emperor concept runs through Chinese dynastic history as a claim of legitimate supernatural bloodline. Icke cites this directly: “In the Chinese empire, they claim the right to be emperor because they are descended from the serpent god. It is all founded on the myth of dragon.”
West African / Dogon
oral tradition
Nommo The Dogon people of Mali attribute their extraordinary astronomical knowledge to their ancestral reptilian celestial beings, the Nommo — fish-serpent gods from the Sirius star system Described as the first instructors of the human species; parallel to Quetzalcoatl and Oannes (Mesopotamian fish-god)
Zulu / Southern African
oral tradition
Chitauri (“Children of the Serpent”) Shapechanging entities described by Zulu shaman Credo Mutwa; described as reptilian beings who interbreed with humans, establish hybrid bloodlines, and maintain control through possession Mutwa’s account is the primary African source for David Icke’s framework; Chitauri are described as emanating a distinctive sulfurous smell and as having established themselves as gods among early humans
Gnostic / Nag Hammadi
c. 100–400 CE
Archons Described in Gnostic texts as non-human entities created by the Demiurge (a false creator god) to administer the material world and keep humanity in ignorance. Often depicted with serpent or lion-serpent hybrid forms. Icke draws heavily on the Archon concept as a pre-modern parallel to the Reptilian — beings whose function is to prevent human consciousness from accessing its true nature
The Ubaid Figurines — Most Cited Archaeological Artifact in Reptilian Research

The Ubaid Lizardmen figurines — clay artifacts excavated primarily by archaeologist Harry Reginald Hall beginning in 1919 at Tell al-Ubaid in modern Iraq, and subsequently at Ur, Eridu, and Uruk — represent the most frequently cited physical archaeological evidence in Reptilian research. They date to the Ubaid period (c. 5900–4000 BCE), predating Sumerian civilization, and depict humanoid beings with markedly reptilian features: elongated skulls, narrow almond-shaped eyes, lizard-type nose and facial structure, and in some cases scales or tail-like appendages.

The most striking figurine — now displayed at the National Museum of Iraq in Baghdad — depicts a female with a reptilian head gently nursing a lizard-headed infant. Archaeologist Leonard Woolley, who excavated extensively at Ur in the 1920s, recovered multiple examples. Their function is genuinely unknown: the standard fertility figurine hypothesis is complicated by the reptilian features, which have no parallel in later Sumerian religious art. They were found in temple contexts, suggesting ceremonial rather than domestic use. No written Ubaid record exists to explain them, as the culture predates writing.

Mainstream archaeology treats them as possibly fertility deities, shamanic figures, or representations of a deity class specific to the Ubaid period that was later replaced in the Sumerian religious system. Alternative researchers — and Reptilian theorists specifically — interpret them as portrait-style depictions of an actual non-human species that inhabited the region before human civilization’s formal emergence: the rulers who later became gods.

Section IV — The Modern Theory’s Origin Chain: How the Idea Was Built

The modern Reptilian Elite conspiracy is not a single invention — it is a layered construction, assembled from distinct intellectual and literary sources across more than a century. Understanding each layer clarifies which elements are ancient, which are 20th-century fiction absorbed into conspiracy literature, and which are original to David Icke.

1888
Helena Blavatsky — The Secret Doctrine (Theosophy). Blavatsky’s foundational Theosophical text describes “dragon-men” who once had a mighty civilization on the continent of Lemuria before humanity’s current form existed. Introduces the concept of non-human pre-human civilizations with reptilian characteristics. This is the first modern Western esoteric framework to systematize serpent-humanoid beings as a historical reality rather than purely mythological figures.
1929
Robert E. Howard — “The Shadow Kingdom” (Weird Tales magazine). Political scientist Michael Barkun (Syracuse University) identifies this pulp horror story as the probable origin point for the specific concept of a serpent-race secretly ruling human civilization. Howard’s “Serpent Men” are shapeshifters who have disguised themselves as humans and occupy positions of power in a pre-historical kingdom. The story draws on Blavatsky and Theosophy. Barkun argues this fictional narrative was later absorbed into conspiracy literature as if it described historical fact.
1940s
Maurice Doreal — “Mysteries of the Gobi” and The Emerald Tablets. American occultist Doreal (alias Claude Doggins) wrote a pamphlet describing a “serpent race” with human bodies and snake heads capable of assuming human form, and produced The Emerald Tablets — a text he claimed to translate from an ancient Atlantean source but which Barkun argues was largely derived from Howard’s fiction. Icke’s 2001 book Children of the Matrix draws significantly from Doreal’s Emerald Tablets.
1976
Zecharia Sitchin — The 12th Planet. Sitchin’s reinterpretation of Sumerian mythology argues that the Anunnaki — Sumerian gods — were in fact extraterrestrial beings who came to Earth for its gold, genetically engineered Homo sapiens as a slave labor force, and established themselves as gods over primitive humanity. Religious studies lecturer David G. Robertson identifies Sitchin’s Anunnaki as the direct source for Icke’s Reptilian bloodline concept, combined with Credo Mutwa’s oral tradition.
1990–1991
David Icke’s first spiritual crisis. Former BBC sports reporter Icke visits psychic Betty Shine, who tells him he is “on Earth for a purpose” and will receive messages from the spirit world. In 1991 Icke publicly declares himself a “Son of the Godhead” on the BBC show Wogan, is publicly ridiculed, and begins a decade of intensive research into what he describes as the true power structure of civilization.
1995–1998
Interviews with Credo Mutwa. Icke interviews Zulu shaman Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa, whose oral tradition describes the Chitauri — shapeshifting serpent beings who interbreed with humans and rule through hybrid bloodlines. Mutwa becomes Icke’s primary ethnographic source and the African voice lending cross-cultural legitimacy to his framework. The interviews are released as a multi-hour documentary, The Reptilian Agenda.
1999
David Icke — The Biggest Secret. The book that crystallizes the modern Reptilian Elite theory. Icke names specific public figures — Queen Elizabeth II, George H.W. Bush, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Henry Kissinger, Bob Hope — as either full-blood Reptilians or Reptilian hybrids. Introduces the Alpha Draconis origin story, the hybrid bloodline model, and the blood-drinking claim. As of 2026 the theory has documented supporters in 47 countries.
2012
Icke — Human Race Get Off Your Knees. Expands the theory to include the Saturn-Moon Matrix hypothesis: the rings of Saturn (artificially created by Reptilian spacecraft) broadcast a control signal amplified through the hollow Moon, keeping humanity trapped in a limited perceptual bandwidth that the Reptilians can exploit. This framework absorbs and subsumes the earlier shapeshifting mechanism, locating it in interdimensional physics rather than pure biology.

Section V — Claimed Evidence of Presence Among Humans

The evidence presented for Reptilian presence in human society falls into four broad categories. The Directorate documents each category with its internal logic, its most prominent examples, and where applicable, the mainstream explanation offered for the same phenomenon.

Evidence Category 1 — Video “Glitches” and Shapeshifting Incidents

The most widely circulated modern evidence comes from video footage in which public figures appear to momentarily display non-human characteristics: eyes whose pupils seem to briefly adopt a vertical slit configuration, skin appearing to ripple or texture unusually, or tongues that appear briefly forked. Compilations of these incidents have garnered millions of views on YouTube under titles such as “Reptilians Caught on Camera.” The figures most frequently cited include members of the British Royal Family, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, and various news anchors.

A frequently referenced incident: during a 2016 Facebook live session, Zuckerberg was directly asked, “Mark, are the allegations true that you’re secretly a lizard?” His response — “I’m gonna have to go with ‘no’ on that. I am not a lizard” — was followed by what observers described as an unusually prolonged blink and what appeared to be a tongue movement consistent with a forked tongue. The moment was widely shared as evidence; debunkers attributed it to compression artifacts and normal facial movement.

Mainstream explanation: Video compression algorithms (particularly older H.264 encoding) produce visual artifacts around high-contrast boundaries — such as the edge of an iris — that can temporarily render circular pupils as vertical slits in certain lighting and frame-rate conditions. The “snake emerging from Biden’s jacket” (later confirmed as a rosary) and similar incidents have been fact-checked and debunked individually. Proponents counter that the frequency and specificity of these glitches, concentrated among exactly the figures identified as Reptilian bloodline carriers, exceeds what compression error alone would predict.

Evidence Category 2 — Royal and Elite Bloodline Interbreeding

Icke and researchers in this tradition point to the documented historical practice of intermarriage among European royal families — and among elite financial dynasties — as evidence of a deliberate genetic maintenance strategy. The claim: Reptilian-human hybrid bloodlines require controlled interbreeding to preserve the Reptilian genetic component necessary for shapeshifting ability and for receiving the commands of the Reptilian hierarchy. The “obsession with purity of bloodline” among royals is not, in this reading, cultural or dynastic — it is biological management.

Icke specifically notes that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were second cousins — a documented genealogical fact. He extends this to a genealogical study published by Burke’s Peerage showing that all 43 American presidents up to George W. Bush were related to one another, and that the more closely a candidate was related to European royalty, the more likely they were to win the presidency. This genealogical study was real and was cited by Icke as evidence that the presidency selects for Reptilian bloodline rather than electoral merit.

Mainstream explanation: The interconnectedness of European royal families is well-documented and reflects centuries of deliberate dynastic alliance-building for political purposes. Presidential genealogical connections reflect the small founding population of the American elite class and the overrepresentation of European settler descendants in 18th–19th century politics. Statisticians note that given enough generations, most people of European descent share significant ancestry. The genealogical pattern is real; its interpretation as Reptilian bloodline maintenance is the claim that requires independent verification.

Evidence Category 3 — Blood Consumption and Adrenochrome

A central behavioral claim in the Reptilian literature is that these entities require warm mammalian blood — and specifically the adrenal hormone adrenochrome — to regulate their cold-blooded metabolism and maintain the human disguise under stress. This claim connects the Reptilian hypothesis to a broader conspiracy framework alleging elite blood-drinking rituals, which has antecedents in medieval European anti-Semitic blood libel mythology as well as in modern QAnon-adjacent theories about elite pedophile networks and adrenochrome harvesting from children.

Icke traces this claim to witness accounts from individuals who describe attending ceremonies at which Reptilian entities in partial human form consumed blood. Arizona Wilder — a woman who claims to have been used as a mind-control subject and ritual facilitator — provided one of the most detailed accounts in Icke’s 1999 documentary Revelations of a Mother Goddess, describing British royals and other elite figures participating in blood rituals in their Reptilian forms. Credo Mutwa’s Chitauri tradition separately includes accounts of blood-feeding as a method of physical and spiritual domination.

Mainstream note: Adrenochrome is a real compound — a metabolite of adrenaline — that has been studied since the 1950s. Early psychiatric research (Abram Hoffer, Humphry Osmond) explored a possible role in schizophrenia. It does not require children or torture to produce; it is commercially synthesized. It does not have the psychoactive properties attributed to it in conspiracy literature. The adrenochrome narrative that became central to QAnon is not supported by pharmacological evidence. The connection to blood libel mythology — a centuries-old antisemitic fabrication — is noted by academic researchers including Barkun and Robertson as a significant structural element of the modern theory.

Evidence Category 4 — Behavioral and Physiological “Tells”

Community researchers in this tradition have compiled a range of behavioral and physiological characteristics that are argued to betray non-human origin in public figures. These include blinking patterns (Reptilians allegedly blink vertically rather than horizontally, or blink at unusual frequencies), pupillary responses to light, unusual body temperature readings in handshake encounters, an alleged inability to hold sustained eye contact with a normal human gaze, characteristic hand gestures claimed to encode Reptilian symbology, and a reportedly distinctive smell noted by those who have been in close proximity to alleged carriers.

The claim about vertical blinking is one of the most persistent: human eyelids move horizontally (left-right from the eye’s perspective — actually top-to-bottom, but distinctively) while reptiles have a nictitating membrane that moves diagonally or horizontally. Researchers have claimed to capture this in slow-motion video of political figures. The royals have been specifically accused of blinking in a “lizard-like manner” by multiple observers, including in coverage cited by Reader’s Digest and Marie Claire in discussions of the Royal Family conspiracy literature.

Icke also points to what he calls the “reptile brain” — a real anatomical structure: the brainstem and basal ganglia, sometimes called the “R-complex” or reptilian brain in Paul MacLean’s outdated but culturally persistent Triune Brain model. Icke interprets the human possession of this structure as literal evidence of reptilian genetic inheritance, arguing that our aggression, ritual behavior, and hierarchical social tendencies are the behavioral signature of the Reptilian coding embedded in human DNA. Neuroscientists note the Triune Brain model is considered an oversimplification and is not used in current neuroanatomy.

Section VI — Alleged Specimen Carriers: Named Individuals

The following public figures have been specifically named as Reptilian entities or Reptilian-hybrid bloodline carriers in the primary literature — principally Icke’s books and lectures, corroborated in varying degrees by other researchers in the tradition. This Directorate documents these allegations as claims made in the public record, not as verified findings. No individual named below has been demonstrated to be non-human by any verified physical examination.

  • British Royal Family: Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III, Prince Philip — named by Icke in The Biggest Secret (1999) as full-blood Reptilians. Queen Elizabeth II was the central figure; her death in 2022 produced a surge of social media content claiming the “Draco bloodline” had passed to Charles. Philip’s second-cousin relationship to the Queen was cited as evidence of bloodline maintenance.
  • George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush: Named as Reptilian bloodlines; Bush Sr. described by Icke as particularly significant due to his CIA background and what Icke interprets as documented involvement in ritual practices. The extended Bush family genealogy — including alleged connections to European royalty — is a central exhibit in the bloodline argument.
  • Bill and Hillary Clinton: Named in The Biggest Secret. The Clintons’ political longevity, financial networks, and alleged connections to elite occultist circles are cited as behavioral evidence.
  • The Rothschild family: Named as perhaps the central banking dynasty of the Reptilian bloodline — the financial arm of the control structure. Icke acknowledges this overlaps with centuries of antisemitic conspiracy targeting Jewish banking families, and argues the Reptilian framing removes the antisemitic interpretation. Critics including the Center for Countering Digital Hate note that the overlap is structural and functional regardless of stated intent.
  • Henry Kissinger: Named repeatedly across Icke’s work as a Reptilian figure of particular significance in the political-military complex.
  • Mark Zuckerberg: Has emerged as a prominent subject of “is he a lizard?” speculation in the internet era, primarily through video analysis of his demeanor, blinking pattern, and the famous 2016 self-denial cited above.
  • Bob Hope: Icke names Hope in The Biggest Secret in the context of MK-Ultra and mind-control claims intersecting with the Reptilian framework — an example of entertainment industry figures being included alongside political ones.
“I have travelled and been to 50 countries to research it. It took the form of meeting people who tell of experiences of seeing people — often in positions of power — change from human form to a reptilian form and back again in front of their eyes. The hybrids became demi-gods — part human, part god. They were obviously perceived as gods. The hybrid bloodlines were the ones that became the royal families of the world.” — David Icke, interview (sourced in News24, June 2020). Icke claims to have gathered eyewitness testimony across 50 countries as his primary evidentiary base.

Section VII — Academic and Critical Analysis

The Reptilian conspiracy theory has been the subject of genuine academic study, primarily from the fields of political science, religious studies, and the sociology of conspiracy belief. The Directorate documents the major scholarly positions.

Michael Barkun (Professor of Political Science, Syracuse University) traces the specific concept of a shapeshifting serpent race secretly ruling human civilization to Robert E. Howard’s 1929 fiction, transmitted through occultist literature into Icke’s framework. Barkun argues that the theory represents a “superconspiracy” — a meta-level conspiracy that absorbs and explains all other conspiracies — and that its unfalsifiability is precisely what makes it psychologically compelling. Any evidence against it can be incorporated as further proof of concealment.

Edward Guimont (historian) has argued that Icke’s specific framework drew from colonial-era pseudohistorical legends surrounding Great Zimbabwe and the mokele-mbembe in Africa — legends that served to deny African civilization its own historical achievements by attributing them to external non-human or non-African forces. In this reading, the Reptilian theory has roots in colonial racist epistemology.

David G. Robertson (religious studies) describes the theory as a “New Age theodicy” — a system that explains why the world contains so much suffering and injustice by attributing it to an external, supernatural evil force. In this reading it performs the same psychological function as demonic possession theology: it locates the source of evil outside humanity and gives believers a framework for understanding systemic oppression.

A 2013 Public Policy Polling survey found that 4% of registered American voters (within ±2.8%) believed in Icke’s specific claims. By 2016, The Guardian reported approximately 12 million Americans holding some version of the belief. The theory has documented support communities in 47 countries.

Archival Assessment — Directorate Position on Specimen Status

On physical evidence: No authenticated physical specimen of a Reptilian Humanoid is held in any institutional collection. No verified autopsy, tissue sample, or living subject exists in the documented record. The Ubaid figurines are the only physical artifacts whose reptilian-humanoid characteristics are agreed upon across mainstream and alternative researchers — though their interpretation diverges sharply.

On the ancient record: The cross-cultural prevalence of serpent-humanoid deities and hybrid beings across unconnected civilizations is a documented historical reality that mainstream scholarship explains through the universal symbolic significance of serpents (shedding of skin = renewal; predatory power = divinity; underground habitat = underworld) rather than through the physical existence of the beings described. The convergence is real; the explanation for it remains a genuine point of interpretive divergence.

On the video evidence: Each individual “glitch” incident documented in the conspiracy literature has a mainstream technical explanation (compression artifacts, lighting, frame rate). Proponents argue the statistical pattern of these glitches — concentrated in exactly the individuals identified as bloodline carriers — cannot be explained by chance. No independent statistical analysis of this claim has been conducted by either side.

On the antisemitism overlap: Multiple academic researchers and journalistic institutions have documented structural overlap between the Reptilian conspiracy framework and traditional antisemitic conspiracy narratives. This overlap is noted for completeness, not to dismiss the theory’s non-antisemitic variants or the sincere inquiry of researchers who engage with it in good faith.

Recommended classification: CRYPTOBIOLOGICAL HYPOTHESIS — NO PHYSICAL SPECIMEN CONFIRMED — ANCIENT RECORD DOCUMENTED — CROSS-CULTURAL PREVALENCE ACKNOWLEDGED — MODERN EVIDENCE CATEGORY DISPUTED — OPEN FILE. No determination of existence or non-existence. Continued archival monitoring of new physical evidence claims.
