Vibes of Cosmos operates a YouTube channel (handle: @VIBESOFCOSMOS) with a documented presence across YouTube, Bitchute, and Brighteon. The channel’s output covers plasma Moon theory, alternative cosmology, flat Earth cartography, electromagnetic cosmology, and geoengineering — a thematic range that positions the channel at the intersection of several distinct alternative-knowledge communities. The channel is associated with the music project Mountaindub and sells physical and digital map products derived from its lunar cartography research, including a digital download of the derived flat Earth map priced at ten euros.

Vibes of Cosmos is consistently cited by community members and affiliated channels as the originating or most rigorous source for the plasma Moon / lunar cartography framework. The FlatEarth Nations channel — a collaborator on the primary documentaries — describes the Vibes of Cosmos body of work as “the mother of all conspiracies” and as the research that Gleason-map flat Earth proponents are said to be suppressing or ignoring. This internal hierarchy within the flat Earth community — in which the Vibes of Cosmos / plasma Moon framework is positioned as a more advanced and complete version of flat Earth theory than the older azimuthal equidistant (Gleason map) model — is a notable structural feature of the theory’s community context.

A core distinction between the Vibes of Cosmos framework and earlier flat Earth cartography is the claim that the commonly used azimuthal equidistant projection — the disc map centred on the North Pole, showing the known world with Antarctica as a surrounding ring — is incomplete. The known flat Earth map, in this framework, shows only a small portion of the full flat disc. The plasma Moon, when fully analysed, reveals additional continents beyond the Antarctic ice wall: landmasses identified by Vibes of Cosmos as including Hyperborea (a northern polar continent), Pangaea / Terra Vista (a large central landmass), Lemuria, Atlantis, and others. These hidden continents are said to be actively concealed from the general population, with ocean and air routes in the relevant regions subject to restriction under the Antarctic Treaty and other international agreements.

• The Moon’s Dark Regions Are Oceans; Bright Regions Are Land In the Vibes of Cosmos framework, the correspondence between the Moon’s surface and the flat Earth is direct: the dark maria correspond to the oceans of the flat Earth, and the bright highland regions correspond to the landmasses. • The Shadowed Portion of the Moon Does Not Exist One of the more distinctive claims in the Vibes of Cosmos framework is that the dark, shadowed portion of the Moon visible during non-full phases — which mainstream astronomy attributes to the Moon being only partially illuminated by the Sun — does not physically exist. The shadow, in this model, is not a shadow at all but an absence of the Moon’s self-generated plasma image. The Moon is a luminous disc; its dark portions are simply areas where the plasma luminescence is not present at that time. This is cited as evidence that the Moon is not a solid opaque body at an altitude of 384,000 km, but a plasma or holographic phenomenon at a much lower altitude within the atmosphere, through which terrestrial clouds remain partially visible. • The Macroclimate Connection — Moon Encodes Cyclical Change The “Greater World Map and Macroclimate Change” documentary extends the plasma Moon framework to propose that the Moon’s plasma image does not remain static. Over longer periods — centuries or millennia — the Moon’s luminous surface shifts to reflect changes in the flat Earth’s geography caused by macro-scale climate cycles. These cycles, described as “macroclimate change,” are distinct from modern anthropogenic climate change and involve large-scale shifts in ice coverage, sea levels, and continental accessibility. The full Moon is used specifically because this is when the entire nearside hemisphere is illuminated and visible — the plasma reflection of the full flat Earth disc is fully “active.” Partial phases, in the Vibes of Cosmos framework, show only a partial reflection because the plasma image is generated by the interaction between the Moon’s plasma body and the Sun, and is only fully visible when the geometry is correct. The tonal values of the photograph are inverted. In the source image, the dark maria are dark and the bright highlands are light. After inversion, the maria become light and the highlands become dark. Individual bright regions are identified as specific continents: Eurasia, Africa, the Americas, and Australia in the known world; and beyond the outer ring, additional landmasses identified as Hyperborea, Lemuria, Atlantis, Pangaea/Terra Vista, and others. Researchers annotate the image, drawing lines and labels connecting specific lunar features to their proposed geographical counterparts. Vibes of Cosmos extends this step further than most: not only the known world but the full “greater world” — including hidden continents not present on the standard flat Earth map — is identified in the outer regions of the processed lunar disc.

Vibes of Cosmos has extended the standard procedure in several directions that are documented in later videos. One series applies the analysis not only to full-Moon photographs but to close-up sections of the lunar surface — using high-magnification photographs of specific maria and highland regions to propose correspondences with specific geographical features such as river systems, mountain ranges, and coastlines at a finer resolution than the disc-level analysis provides. Another research direction applies the same analytical framework to photographs of the Moon taken at different phases, using the partial illumination of non-full phases to examine specific quadrants of the plasma image in isolation and identify regional geographical correspondence.

The Moon’s nearside — the hemisphere permanently facing Earth due to tidal locking — is visually characterised by two distinct terrain types. The bright regions, known as the lunar highlands or terrae, make up the majority of the surface. The dark regions, known as maria (singular: mare), are lower-lying plains concentrated predominantly on the nearside. Mainstream science describes these as ancient lava-flooded impact basins. The maria cover approximately 16% of the total lunar surface and are concentrated on the side facing Earth — a nearside asymmetry that mainstream geology attributes to thermal gradient differences between the two hemispheres during the Moon’s early geological history.

The most prominent maria are: Mare Imbrium (upper left in standard orientation); Oceanus Procellarum (the largest, irregular, left-centre); Mare Serenitatis (upper centre); Mare Tranquillitatis (centre-right, Apollo 11 landing site); Mare Crisium (isolated oval on the right limb); Mare Nubium and Mare Humorum (lower left grouping); and Mare Nectaris and Mare Fecunditatis (lower right). Together, these form the dark pattern visible to the naked eye and interpreted across cultures as the “Man in the Moon,” a rabbit, a woman, and other forms.

All full-Moon photographs show a bright ring at the outer edge of the lunar disc — the limb. This brightening is produced by the way the lunar surface reflects light at low angles: surface features near the limb are illuminated at very oblique angles relative to the camera, producing a brightening effect. In the Vibes of Cosmos framework, this bright outer ring is identified as the Antarctic ice wall — the ring of ice that, in flat Earth cosmology, surrounds the disc of the known world and contains the oceans. • Oceanus Procellarum — The Pacific Ocean The largest dark region on the Moon’s nearside, Oceanus Procellarum (“Ocean of Storms”), is identified as corresponding to the Pacific Ocean — the largest ocean on the flat Earth map. Its irregular, extended shape on the left-centre of the lunar disc is said to match the position and relative size of the Pacific in the azimuthal equidistant projection when the processed image is aligned with the flat Earth map. The name “Ocean of Storms” itself is noted by some proponents as a further correspondence, given the Pacific’s meteorological significance.
• Mare Crisium — The Caspian Sea / Persian Gulf Region The isolated, well-defined oval of Mare Crisium on the eastern limb of the Moon is one of the most frequently cited correspondences. • Antarctica Stations at Claimed Hidden Continent Locations A further evidentiary claim involves the positions of scientific research stations on the Antarctic continent. Vibes of Cosmos and affiliated channels argue that the locations of various Antarctic Treaty stations — when plotted on the greater world map derived from the plasma Moon — correspond to positions on or near the claimed hidden continents rather than on the standard Antarctic continent. This is presented as evidence that governments are aware of the hidden continents and are conducting research there under the cover of the Antarctic Treaty framework, while publicly describing the stations as being on the ice continent.

The plasma Moon framework depends on the Moon being self-luminous rather than a reflector of sunlight. A range of observational evidence is cited by the community in support of this position. The blood moon — the red colouration of the Moon during a total lunar eclipse — is cited as “proof” that the Moon is not a rocky body reflecting sunlight: if the Moon were simply in Earth’s shadow during an eclipse, it would go completely dark rather than turning red. The red colour, in the plasma framework, is interpreted as the Moon’s self-generated plasma field shifting under different electromagnetic conditions rather than sunlight refracted through Earth’s atmosphere. • Clouds Photographed Behind the Moon Video footage appearing to show clouds or other atmospheric phenomena visible behind the lunar disc is cited as evidence that the Moon is at a much lower altitude than mainstream astronomy claims — within the lower atmosphere rather than at 384,000 km. If clouds can pass behind the Moon, the Moon cannot be hundreds of thousands of kilometres away. The footage is presented as direct visual evidence of the Moon’s local, plasma nature. Mainstream explanation attributes such footage to lens artefacts, sensor bloom, and video compression producing false apparent layering.
• The United Nations Emblem — Institutional Encoding The United Nations emblem uses a polar azimuthal equidistant projection centred on the North Pole as its primary design element. This is the same projection used as the flat Earth map. Community members — including Vibes of Cosmos — cite this as evidence that those who control global institutions are aware of the true shape of the Earth and have encoded it in the most visible global symbol. The 33 laurel branches on the UN emblem are additionally cited as a numerological reference to Freemasonry and the number 33, further embedding the emblem within a broader narrative of institutional concealment.
• Moon Landing Faked — To Conceal the Plasma Truth All six Apollo Moon landings are described by Vibes of Cosmos and FlatEarth Nations as fabricated, with the motivation being specifically the concealment of the Moon’s plasma nature. Had astronauts actually reached the Moon and returned photographs of its surface at close range, the absence of solid geological terrain — and the presence instead of the plasma image of the flat Earth — would have been impossible to conceal. The Moon landings are therefore cited not merely as a general hoax but as a hoax whose primary purpose was to prevent the public from understanding the Moon’s true nature as a plasma reflection of the Earth.

The primary scientific and technical objection to the Lunar Cartography Hypothesis concerns the image-processing pipeline. Critics — including astronomers, image-analysis professionals, and science communicators such as SciManDan (YouTube, October 2024) — argue that the processing steps do not reveal hidden information but construct the appearance of a map through a sequence of editorial choices. Specifically: inversion reverses existing visible features rather than revealing new ones; contrast enhancement amplifies the chosen features while suppressing others; colour mapping applies terrestrial map conventions that make any image look map-like when rendered in blue and green. The same pipeline applied to other circular images — a cross-section of a tree, a satellite view of a lake, an aerial photograph of any roughly circular landscape — produces outputs that can be interpreted as maps with equal facility.

Critics note that the specific features identified as continents are not consistently identified across different analysts using the same method. Mare Crisium has been identified as the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, and Australia by different proponents examining nominally the same processed image. The lack of consistent feature identification across independent analyses suggests that the identifications are not constrained by the data but by the prior geographical knowledge and interpretive preference of each analyst.

Mainstream physics attributes the cold-light observation to the physics of radiative cooling: objects in direct moonlight lose heat via infrared radiation to the cold night sky, while objects in shadow are partially insulated by whatever is casting the shadow. The thermometer itself, when placed in moonlight, is exposed to the radiative cooling of the night sky; the same thermometer in shade benefits from slightly warmer radiative conditions. The effect is also small enough that it is susceptible to confounding variables in informal experimental setups. Published scientific experiments examining moonlight temperature have not confirmed a systematic cooling effect attributable to moonlight itself.

The Lunar Wave phenomenon — horizontal distortion waves visible in long-zoom video of the Moon — is attributed by mainstream optics to atmospheric turbulence affecting long-baseline telescopic footage, and to the internal optics of digital zoom cameras producing rolling shutter and compression artefacts in high-contrast imaging conditions. The phenomenon is not observed in astronomical telescope footage with appropriate atmospheric correction, and it appears most prominently in exactly the conditions — low-altitude long-zoom recordings in variable atmospheric conditions — where optical and compression artefacts are most expected.
